EP FIL 07 | Metaphysics and Helenism

In this episode we will study Hellenism and the expansion of philosophical ideas about life after death. We will address the emergence of several schools that developed the Pythagorean and Platonic ideas and made them reach the territories of the Near East. We will approach Medioplatonism, Neo-Pythagoreanism, Gnosticism and Hermeticism, among other schools, and we will know a little more about some little studied thinkers, but fundamental to understand the intellectual context of the emergence of Christianity.

EP FIL 06 | The Reincarnation in Socrates and Plato

The research to understand how ancient thinkers understood the idea of ​​immortality of the soul and life after death reaches back to Plato’s “Republic” and the concept of reincarnation. In this episode, we analyze the main Socratic arguments to defend reincarnation and its importance to justify the idea that each individual can achieve excellence, overcoming his mistakes and learning virtue.
